Many computer users, especially those who travel for business, rely on laptops and PDAs because they are small and easily transported. But while these characteristics make them popular and convenient, they are also easily lost or ideal target for thieves. The webcast presentation gave an overview of some of the major security threats and challenges we face in keeping mobile data secure and what we can do to protect data from being compromised. Some of the topics covered in this webcast included the following:

  • What devices would be considered “mobile”?
  • What kind of security threats do you have to be concerned about with mobile devices?
  • Importance of encryption and policies
  • Case studies on data breaches and security vulnerabilities involving mobile devices
