National Webcast Initiative
2008 Call for Presenters
The US Department of Homeland Security’s National Cyber Security Division and the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center, in collaboration with the NYS Forum, are soliciting presenters for the 2008 National Webcast Initiative series.
The National Webcast Initiative is an excellent collaboration between the public and private sectors focused on enhancing our cyber security.
If you are interested in submitting a presentation proposal, please review the presentation guidelines below and then submit a completed Call for Presenters Form .

- April 1 – Call for presenters distributed
- May 9 – Deadline for proposals
- May 16 – Selection of presenters
- June 3 – Deadline for first draft of presenter powerpoints and related documents for posting on the website
- June 10 – Deadline for final presentation powerpoints and related documents for posting on the website

Presentation Guidelines – Rules of Engagement for National Webcast Initiatives
- Each webcast is one hour in length. The first 45 minutes reserved for content; remaining 15 minutes for questions.
- Presentations are recorded and offered publicly on the National Webcast Initiative web site.
- In order to make the session interactive, webcast attendees have the ability to submit written questions during the broadcast.
- Presentations must be vendor and product neutral.
- Vendor cannot participate in 2 consecutive webcast sessions.
- Each session should provide a deliverable – specific content of value for participants.
- In order to maximize the value of the event for attendees, documents such as glossaries, checklists, etc. will be solicited from the presenter for posting to the National Webcast Initiative web site prior to the broadcast.
- It is preferred that presenters will conduct the webcast on-site in Albany, NY.
- Two presenters per webcast will be selected.
- Presenter should discuss this topic at an expert level, and direct the presentation toward the home user and end user.
- Presenters volunteer their time and expertise for the webcasts.

The Department of Homeland Security’s National Cyber Security Division and the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center have partnered to establish the National Webcast Initiative to develop a series of national webcasts which will examine critical and timely cyber security issues. Embracing the concept that security is everyone’s responsibility, these webcasts will be available to a broad audience to help raise awareness and knowledge levels. A number of vendors have offered their services at no cost to government, to help develop and deliver the webcasts.
