On March 8, 2010, the Cyber Alert Level is being raised to Blue (Guarded) from Green (Low) due to the vulnerability announced by Microsoft. On March 1, 2010, CSCIC issued an advisory for an un-patched vulnerability in Microsoft Internet Explorer. On March 2, 2010, CSCIC issued an update to that advisory based on the findings of our independent tests. Also, on March 2, 2010, CSCIC issued an advisory for a vulnerability in IBM Lotus Domino Web Access ActiveX controls. Organizations and users are advised to update and apply all appropriate vendor security patches as soon as they become available and to continue to update their antivirus signatures daily. Another line of defense includes user awareness training regarding the threats posed by attachments and hypertext links contained in emails especially from un-trusted sources.
